Ginny Sullivan

Ginny Sullivan left us in April of 2007. She was a women of very high spirits and enthusiasm. She loved Women On Wheels®, loved to ride and would help out where needed. Ginny started the South Shore Chapter in Massachusetts, obtained its Charter and was our 1st Chapter Director. She was also our 1st State Ambassador (then called State Director). Even after she moved to Arizona she would come back to Massachusetts to help us in the Chapter. She would help the new Chapter Director, resolve old issues and would enjoy seeing us again. She moved to Arizona to be with her Dad. Soon after, Ginny's husband Bob retired and moved out to AZ to be with her. They rode everywhere together, he on his bike and she on hers. On their way to Sturgis one year, Ginny suffered a major stroke. She went off the side of the road and her bike rolled over on her. After many operations and therapy, she was back riding. Bob had a side car put on his bike and she rode in that. They still went everywhere and always to our Ride-Ins. She was like a rock to us - unstoppable and loaded with energy and drive. Last April, this bundle of energy and spirit passed away from another stroke. She now rides on another journey making way for all the rest of us. Ginny, we truly will miss you so much. Ride safe, free and enjoy the wind.

Brenda Zavakos

Brenda Zavakos passed away suddenly on 1/2/07.  A memorial service was planned for 1/6/07.  It was attended by family and many friends.  There were plenty of pictures of Brenda for all to see and know more about her life.  The photo displays were done by her daughter, Jennifer.  There were two wooden photo frame displays that showed Brenda having fun with her friends, whether it be on a bike or in a restaurant.  On one table there was a picture of Molly, their pet pig, along with an amulet bag I made for her that had on it, "I LOVE PIGS".  In the front of the room on a long table, were folded many of Brenda's favorite Harley shirts done in a fashion to look like a comfy quilt.  Among this was a wooden urn (made to look like a book) that contained her ashes.  I read The Dash by Linda Ellis.  Rev. Bobbie Predmore shared precious moments of Brenda & Marty's life and we all had a good laugh about that.  I will miss my very good friend, Brenda.  She can be remembered best by having a book in one hand and a diet soda in her other hand as she sat in the sidecar of Marty's 1996 Harley.

Until we meet again,
